California Thai

Just finished eating at California Thai and not impressed. Ordered 2 bowls of noodle soup and there was more soup than noodles. We also ordered a plate of Ho fun noodles which came after we were done eating. Sad thing is we had to ask TWICE what was taking so long for the dish to come out. Again not impressed!

First time, love the Pho, thai fried rice was great, many dessert to choose from and I order the Cassava wrap ice cream and it is excellent. I highly recommend this place, will be back.

Just tried it yesterday, ordered a sea food
california Pad Thai, taste just like the Chinese fast food. Total cost with drink $15.00 +.

Someone told me this restaurant is under new management, so I gave it one more try, very disappointed again. nothing new other than adding some Vietnamese noodle soup.

Since the new management stepped in, the food in California Thai has greatly improved. It is one of my favourite spots to go to. Try the short ribs. It is excellent. I always have cravings for it.

I had seafood tom yum soup (meal size). The bowl was gigantic you would think it would feed at least 2). However, I was quick to discover that its mostly broth and a lot of vermicelli (?) noodles. Very little seafood and was rubberyI think I had 2 shrimp and 2 oysters in the whole thing and a couple other small things scattered around. It was actually terrible I did not enjoy it at all. I barely finished half of it
There dessert menu was also very small. Although, tried the deep friend banana which was very good (a rice krispie batter)

I must say, the wait staff is very friendly and pay a lot of attention to you. However, my friend and I got our meals about 3-4 minutes apart (there were only two of us so I dont really understand why they dont come at the same time).

Probably wont be going back.

No ideas why anyone will like this place, the Thai Express is much better choice, if you like Thai food or noodle, the plaza at the Kennedy and HWY 7 has much better choice. This place is for those who do'nt know anything about Thai food.

Our experience up until our last visit was pretty good. We always order the mango chicken stirfry, but the last time we went, it was completely different. The mangos were mushy. The chicken was not crispy, as it used to be. The noodles and vegetables were not good either. There was undissolved thickener on the vegetables, making them stick together. The fact that the rice is no longer served in a pyramid shape makes us think they've changed owners or something. We ate very little of the food and told the waiter that we didn't like it. There was really not much of a response. We used to go every week, but won't be back. Too bad because there aren't that many sit-down eating establishments in Markville.

It used to be okay not anymore. Everything is mushy, just like fast food.

totally agree with Tempestina, go to Thai Express.

Thai Express in the food court is much better.

I read the review and tried this restaurant last week, I ordered a Pad Thai, It was terrible. Any Chinese or Thai restaurant is better than this one.
I do'nt beleive the chef has any Thai food background. Will never go back again

Average food, average price, average everything. Will go back only very hungry.

A few days back I tried the Thai Express at Markville and it was terrible! They have no choices at all everything is just sour!!! I went to Bourbon the next day and they told me about this place next to Wal-mart will definately be back

A bunch of us tried this place during our lunch hour. Bad idea. Service was terribly slow, food was mediocre at best. Some of us received and finished our meals before the rest of us got our meals.

Walked by during the day they didn't seem that busy came back at night to try it and they were pretty full. The place is not too shabby....

I read the review and tried the restaurant, should have gone to the nearby Chinese mall for the real Thai food. Will never go back again.

terriable food, but service is good. never go back again

Food was very late in arriving - of a party of 7, 2 people finished their food before the other 5 got theirs.

Food itself was only 6/10 given the price.
Would not go back despite being given 10% off the next visit for poor service.

Love this place the food looks very meticulous and carefully prepared. Service is good, best Thai place in Markham by far.

I have heard they have won numerous awards. I go there often and I find their food enchanting. They are very clean and always have great service!

Personally, it is one of the better restaurants in the Markham area. I heard they just recieved an Eat Smart award too.

the food was absolutely disgusting and would never ever go back. food was soggie and had no seasoning on it. went 3 times there and would never go back.

Went a few months ago, food was good, so was the service.

They are Thai Fusion, hence the name California Thai. I've been there many times. Great atmosphere, good price point and some pretty good looking waitresses. Would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Not a real Thai food, The lemon grass is way better. I will not go back again.
