Carmelina Restaurant

I have taken customer's to Carmelina's - will be going again on Wednesday, great food!

I live in Unionville and go to this restaurant often with friends. On a Fri or Sat night the live music is fun and the food is great anytime. Our servers are always attentive and we love the atmosphere. I don't know where that other reviewer dined but it couldn't have been at Carmelina's on Woodbine!

Out for a birthday evening for 'fine' Italian food ... unfortunately, this restaurant knows NOTHING about creating Italian dishes. Our foursome ordered 2 different 'specials'(one meat and one pasta) and the other 2 ordered pasta dishes off the menu amazingly, all 4 dishes reflected the quality and character of this restaurant all of the dishes TASTED THE SAME boring and bland! When the table bread arrived, we didn't reconize it, we were told, upon request that it was Persian bread???? What? Service poor our empty cocktail glasses remained on the table for most of the dinner serving. They can't spell ITALIAN! Avoid this one if that's what you're looking for.

My wife and I have patroned this fine restaurant for well over a year now and have had absolutely wonderful meals here. After reading the review from 2005-08, I decided to inspect the pizza offerings, and of course there is no Wood Oven there but actually a Stone Hearth oven. It is very much a high-handed compliment when the competition has to resort to this kind of put-down to those it cannot compete against - how sad for you.
The pasta selection with its mix-and-match sauces and meat additions are unlike any other Italian-style eatery we've been to. Bravo !
